Films

  • Aladdin
    • A street rat with a heart of gold saves the land from the evils of a sorcerer all thanks to one fast-talking, scene-stealing genie.
  • Pocahontas
    • Considered quite a low-point for the princess brand, this creative retelling of history has a lot of style but lacks so much substance.
  • Hercules
    • A very loose adaptation of the Greek myths, this tale adapts Hercules into a pop-culture superhero, to mixed results.
  • Mulan
    • Moving for the eastern side of the globe, Disney next adapted a Chinese tale into a princess film. We take a planned look at this movie, and it's sequel, to see how it measures up.
  • The Emperor's New Groove
    • Although not loved when in theaters, this amusing buddy-comedy tale does hold up now, years later.
  • Treasure Planet
    • A misfire of epic proportions, this movie wanted to make Treasure Island into a space epic. It failed.
  • The Princess and the Frog
    • A woman desperate to get her restaurant going ends up tangled up in a voodoo curse that just might, in the end, give her everything she wanted.
  • Tangled
    • A shut-in locked in a tower, a thief looking for the cash to buy his own island, and an adventure that will change the dreams of both.
  • Frozen
    • Two sisters, a frozen kingdom, and an act of love that could save them both make this a solid movie in the Disney canon.
  • Moana
    • The daughter of an island chief has to head out into the ocean to restore a goddess and save her island in this fantastic heroine's journey.
  • Wreck It Ralph 2 - Ralph Breaks the Internet
    • This sequel lacks the charm, and the heart, of the genre smashing original, making us wish it didn't exist.
  • Frozen II
    • Arendelle is in trouble and only the royal sisters of Elsa and Anna can save the kingdom, and each other, from a new magical threat.
  • Raya and the Last Dragon
    • She's not technically a princess but she goes on a very princess-like adventure to save her homeland.
