This Really Just Boils Down to Another Rant on Fanboys

Darkmoon's Rants #28

I know, I did a rant on portables last time, but dammit, the fanboys flocked to the damn topic, and now I feel I have more to rant about. Basically, it started with a conversational post at the forum that shall not currently be named about the fate of Castlevania. Stupid fanboys, much as they fuel the Castlevania community are all like "well, (snivel) I want a good Castlevania game" and "I hear there will be a port of SotN to the PSP."

These people make my eye twitch. I mean, I'm a fan of Castlevania, which should be obvious just from my sites. I get a little tingle when a new game is announced, and I follow the news as it comes out, but I don't take every rumor at face value, and I don't just randomly go about speculating what the next game WILL be, which some of these people do.

I consider myself a writer, so I like to think about what could be in a gaming universe. I have always thought the idea of a truly futuristic Zelda game would be quite rocking. Alternate dimension, futures and pasts, cool stories and such... yeah, I think about what Castlevania would be like with these ideas, and even write rants about it (mostly cause you guys will read it, so why not). But I'm no obsessed. These people are obsessed, and it doesn't frighten me, it pisses me off, cause I go into topics to read about possible actual news, and I get blather. Waste of my damn time, and I really mean that. Yes I could just not browse the forums... or they could just not post dreck.

So, the one about SotN on the PSP really gets me. Let's see, Konami is rumored to be porting SotN to the PSP, although it's only reported in one magazine, and that was a fairly sketchy report at best. I don't doubt that a port could happen (mostly cause the day I say it definitely won't is the day it gets annouced -- I know my luck), but my question is why. Why would they need to do that, when they'd get more money out of a new game in the series that everyone would want to buy. Why do all these people seem overjoyed to be getting the same damn game they got once before all over again.

Grrrr. I hate fanboys. I really do. But, I'm done.
